Preparation
Turning a home into a broadcast interview location
The crew assessed the available space, arranged the camera, lighting and sound equipment and created a polished interview setup without overwhelming the room or the interviewee.
A trusted Melbourne camera crew for a remotely produced BBC interview with Kathy Etchingham, former partner of Jimi Hendrix.

The assignment
The BBC needed to film Kathy Etchingham for its Witness program. Its producers were in London and the interview subject was at home in Melbourne, so the Australian side needed to be handled by a crew they could trust.
We worked closely with the BBC team before the shoot, prepared the interview space and captured the conversation using broadcast-standard camera, lighting and sound equipment. Clear communication kept the London producers informed throughout.
Because we were filming in someone’s home, the job also called for discretion and care. The crew needed to make Kathy comfortable, work respectfully in the space and represent the BBC professionally.

Preparation
The crew assessed the available space, arranged the camera, lighting and sound equipment and created a polished interview setup without overwhelming the room or the interviewee.

On the day
Technical quality was only part of the job. The crew made the interviewee comfortable, communicated with the BBC team and treated the home with care while capturing everything the producers needed.
The finished work
The final piece shows how the locally produced interview was incorporated into the BBC’s story and delivered to its worldwide audience.
The result
The BBC received a professionally produced interview that met its editorial and technical requirements, without needing to send a crew to Australia. The finished segment was published by the BBC for a global audience.
Client feedback
“Easy to work with, professional and delivered really nice rushes. They filmed an interview locally, whilst we remotely managed from London. Ryan and Nick made sure we were up to date on any developments along the way. I would work with them again.”C. Tailyour
